Spanish Class

Today we had so much fun in our Spanish Class. Our teacher, Besy, (second from the right) usually comes in the afternoon, by herself, to teach us. Today was special because we were able to enjoy visiting with her students. It was fun and entertaining as they asked questions in English and we attempted to answer in Spanish.

Their English is better than our Spanish, but we can pantomine and everyone laughs as they get the big picture.

Nelsons in Honduras

Dear Friends,

It is our heart’s desire to spend the rest of our days helping the ministry of MEDA in Siguatepeque, Honduras, which is dedicated to training pastors in Central America. Specifically, we have volunteered to help the ministry by joining the maintenance staff. MEDA has thirteen acres and many buildings which need constant attention. After just two trips to MEDA, we are convinced that we can and will contribute to the ministry by relieving some of the maintenance burden.

We are Richard and Patricia Nelson, retired Army Sergeant and retired government worker respectively. We are members of Fellowship Bible Church in Mango, FL. Our Elders have affirmed our desire to move to Honduras to serve the Lord at MEDA. The Lord has blessed us financially and we are not in need of monthly support as most missionaries are. In fact, the Board of MEDA has graciously offered us a house, rent free on MEDA property. Thus, our modest retirement benefits will allow us a reasonable quality of life in Honduras. However, we do need to raise funds for a one-time project.

For safety purposes, The Board of MEDA has asked us to finish the construction of a perimeter fence along the property line behind the house before we occupy it. We are asking you to consider making a one-time tax deductible gift to help make our heart’s desire a reality. Our outgoing expense will be approximately $30,000.00. This will allow MEDA to finish the fence and make some improvements to the house we will be living in. We will receive no monetary compensation. Please send your tax deductible financial donation to Fellowship Bible Church in support of Nelsons in Honduras.

We trust that our God will use us to help further the Gospel and training of pastors through the ministry of MEDA in Honduras.

To make a tax deductible donation to support our mission, please fill out the following information and send it along with a check or money order payable to:
